We are now entering an extremely busy few days with the Equinox and St Patrick’s day close together!
We have St Patrick’s Day on 17th March, the Spring Equinox on the 20th March followed by the the New Moon in the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries (21st March).
There is an enormous difference between the Equinox energy and the New Moon energy of Aries just one day later. Not to mention Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius on the 23rd March!
The Equinox marks the first day of Spring and also represents the astrological midpoint between the Summer and Winter solstice. Hence, it is a time of balance, a time when light and dark are equal, a time of inner reflections. The Sun is exactly above the Equator, and day and night are of equal length.
The dark days and nights of winter are over and it is a time of moving slowly out into the world after the last few months of hibernation.
Summer time throughout most of Europe starts in just a few weeks’ time, and that extra hour of daylight we will enjoy is so welcome.
Move into intuitive action
This is a time of moving out of reflection and moving into divinely inspired intuitive action. But, before that, we need to do as our ancestors did, and move towards ritual and celebration of this most sacred time.
We can do this by lighting candles, taking time to meditate, go for a silent walk in nature, or commune gently with close friends.
It is a time of honouring our connection to the Sun as a source of eternal light and our life force. Of course, as Pluto is now in its last degrees of Capricorn, there is also a painfully slow clearing out of all the old debris in our lives which no longer serves us. Which is absolutely necessary. Pluto demands no less.
Let the beautiful energy of the Equinox help you with that!
For we are still in dreamy Pisces season, with the Moon, Neptune and the Sun in Pisces, along with Saturn which moved into Pisces on the 7th March, just over two weeks ago. The Spring Equinox is a day of much softer energy than the New Moon in Aries, as Pisces, ruled by Neptune, is all about our deepest intuitions, and our deepest dreams.
Saturn in Pisces is forming a trine to Mars in chatty Gemini, so Saturn is giving us a flow of energy around taking inspired action.
The Spring Equinox, unlike New and Full Moon occurences, is a much more internal time. A deeply soulful time of taking stock, a time of going inwards, a time of deep inner reflection as to where we wish our spiritual growth path to lead us.
Time to reflect and heal
A time of reflecting on where we have come from during the dark months of Winter, a time of intense yearning for where our soul wishes to lead us during the coming Spring months, where the earth grows anew.
Pluto in its last degrees of Capricorn, is forming a trine to Ceres, which is retrograde in Cardinal Air sign of Libra. So there will be echoes of the ancient myth of Ceres’ daughter Persephone who was abducted by Pluto and brought to the underworld. Torn and distraught by her grief, Ceres cast blight on the earth until she asked Mercury to ask Jupiter to travel to the underworld and negotiate with Pluto to allow her have her daughter back.
The compromise was that they would share Persephone, and so, from then on, she spent half the time above earth and half her time below.
Pluto trining Ceres is hence bringing healing to the earth, and to themes of separation between mother and daughter, between earth and heaven.
Let this Equinox season be a time of deep internal reflection, a time where you simply let yourself be.
