Neptune in Pisces
Us humans love complicating things, that’s for sure. I recently read a post on Instagram by a wonderful American painter who lamented about remembering a quite recent time when we just posted a photo about your painting on Instagram.
Now we have to have a “hook” to draw people in, encourage them to engage with us, hope they convert and then buy. And we in turn are supposed to also be doing lots of commenting and DM’ing. Its fine for a while but it leads to burnout. Usually sooner rather than later.
It brought me back to how much simpler my life was as an astrologer nine years ago. Monday morning I would post free offers in a few Facebook groups, do the mini readings the next day, get paid clients from that, post in one or two other groups and apart from that, get clients when out and about.
That was it! I hadn’t heard of Instagram and there was certainly no need to be on LinkedIn too!
How much more crowded our world has become with social media. Which is why I took a break over Christmas, to rest and recharge. Much needed and not before time. Neptune as I have written before, is very much our higher spiritual bliss. Where our creativity flows through us, not from us. When we sit down in front of a canvas, and three hours later we have painted something extraordinary without having any idea where the vision came from.
That was how becoming a floral photographer worked for me. In Lucca, as in most of Italy, my natal Neptune moves to my fifth house of creativity. It manifested in buying a macro camera lens and using it effortlessly in the Garfagna valley to take floral close ups. A few weeks later, I found myself sauntering into the exquisite Palazzo Pfanner in Lucca to taking close ups of the abundant roses.
That’s Neptune. They remain some of my favourite photos.
And as Venus relates to our everyday creativity and Mercury to our written creativity, Neptune is truly our divine creativity. So often a Neptune transit is what is driving the desire to relocate, and the desire is for a more flowing abundant life. Sometimes our soul actually needs the dreaminess of not knowing what’s going on, in order to be more fully in the flow.
Which can be easier to manifest than we realise, if only we have the courage to dare to dream. When I first arrived in Lucca I knew nothing more than that I had to do what ever it took, to spend three months a year here. I ended up moving here altogether, now, almost a decade and a ton of grief and heartache and loss later, I move seamlessly between both countries.
My Neptune needs both it seems.
Neptine trines my Midheaven right through Puglia which is why I have always been drawn to that part of Italy. Truly it did not disappoint and I did not get to spend enough time there. Which is why I’ll be going back for sure. And when moving to Italy in November 2014, transiting Neptune was trining my natal Neptune, which is why it all flowed so easily. My soul was craving a more creative life, as it once again is now.
Jupiter is opposing my Neptune right now along with Saturn trining it. So the urge to live a more expanded creative life, as it is an opposition has not been easy. My soul has resisted it, in the form of endless busyness back in Ireland. Saturn was trining Neptune in June 2023 when I booked that life changing sailing holiday in Sardinia. I had no idea we would become friends for life, but there we are! Transiting Neptune will be sextiling my natal Venus from April 2024 onwards and I can’t wait! Neptune is also finally off my South Node, so the karmic lessons of loss and pain and of recognising how my ancestors did not get to express their creativity have been indeed faced and healed.
I thank them for the lessons. Ruth is now one of my ancestors, her spirit continuing to guide me in ways I never dreamt possible. So many of us are afraid to live our dreams, Ruth wasn’t – she did indeed live a very full and creative life. But her Chiron in the fifth house of creativity meant she was never fully confident in her creativity. In Ireland it is often hard to do, sometimes we need to move, as I did, to fully embrace our creativity. To go live in a more Neptunian part of the world.
Saturn in Pisces is truly helping us put structure around our dreams. Are they grounded in reality? Are they strong enough? The first few weeks of Saturn, the planet of discipline, focus and structure which moved into Pisces in late 2023 were like a slippery fish that kept swimming away. Now that Neptune is direct since mid December it easier to put form around this most formless of planets.
Neptune is currently forming a beautiful quintile to Mars and Mercury both in hardworking Saturn ruled Capricorn. Hence helping ground our vision. Neptune will be in Pisces until 2025/2026 and is now forcing us to focus on putting form around our dreams by Saturn which is also in Pisces. Have you asked yourself recently what form you wish to take to manifest your higher vision? Sometimes we do not need to take anywhere near as much action as we think we need to. Taking the small steps to get things going is often enough. Like booking the flight, but booking the accommodation when you arrive. Its how Sardinia worked out so beautifully for me.
And then let Neptune take care of the rest, of how it manifests.
