Pluto in Aquarius
It feels like we have been waiting for Pluto to move into the sign of pioneering Aquarius for ever. Finally on the 22nd January it happened and apart from a brief sojurn back into Capricorn between 3rd September 2024 until 20th November 2024, it then moved back into Aquarius where it stays for the next 20 years, until March 2043.
So what can we expect, and what is already happening? We can fully expect to see battles between global tech companies and governments, we can expect to see even more monitoring of our private lives as with more tech driven authentification, much of our day to day lives will be linked to our phones.
One of the strong but largely overlooked themes of 2023 was boundaries, not just between conflict ridden countries, but amongst our personal lives and our family and friends. It was a year where our boundaries were tested like never before. Did you draw new boundaries, did you say, “that’s enough and no more”, or did you let people disrespect you, disrespect your time, your talents, your skills? Are you changing that? If not, you need to!
That’s one of the lessons of Pluto in Aquarius, and one you would do well to heed. What are your new boundaries? Especially around your talents and skills for it is so important not to overdo things. To slow down, take time to reflect on the amazing new world we are now living in.
What and how can you now best contribute to and serve the collective? For the strongest theme of Pluto in Aquarius, is that of a whole new world. How can you step up and learn to use technology for the greater good? Is AI good or bad? And what about ChatGPT? There have been a few enlightened souls writing about how important it is to use those tools to do the boring work for us, and keep the more interesting stuff – like copywriting for ourselves.
You can tell when ChatGPT has written something. It’s certainly a great tool to help you formulate your thoughts about a particular topic, but the essence of the words needs to be yours, and they need to come from your soul. Your soul will thank you in the end.
Pluto in Aquarius will also lead to pioneering art. For Pluto always plumbs to the depths of our souls.
The Sun was conjunct Pluto in Aquarius for the first week of its sojurn.
How was it for you? Did you feel a sense of “This is really my year and I can do what I want! And I am finally going to!” And you so can. So is this the year you go down a different path, is this the year you finally take time off just to be, to explore gently what your soul most craves?
It is how I started 2024 and it was highly intentional. I took a month to just be, with the option of being creative thrown in. I took time to recharge, stay at home and enjoy the bliss of having my very own new artists studio. A highly significant first for me.
Is this the year where you are going to be more intentional than ever before? Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius ended on 1st January and the post shadow phase ended on 20th January. This particular Mercury retrograde, moving between Sagittarius and Capricorn was more than ever about slowing down, quieting your inner mind.
Finishing off projects from last year, getting your files in order, in order to move fully into the brave new world of 2024.
Mercury moved into Aquarius on 5th February and along with the Sun and Pluto it is a wonderfully freeing time for our higher minds.
Aquarius, as we know is ruled by Uranus, representing our higher mind and what is best for the collective. Which as we know, is so crucially important right now.
We can continue to use social media for good and to embrace awareness around causes close to our heart, whether that be to highlight the wrongs of conflict, or the beauty of our art. We can do both. And with Pluto in Aquarius, we can also expect social media to break new barriers. Ones we have not yet even begun to imagine.
In music, we can expect technology to embrace new frontiers – bringing forth innovation we can’t even imagine. Think U2 and their recent spine tingling hi tech residency show in Las Vegas. There’s more of that on the way for sure. Who knows how Taylor Swift will stage her new world tour? Or Ed Sheeran? Or Bruce Springsteen?
In the art world we can expect artists to seamlessly merge graphics, oils, watercolours and computers to create works of vision as yet unseen. For sure.
So ask yourselves, how are you going to use your higher mind in these coming years?
