Pluto in Capricorn
Coming in to the start of 2024, a year which has for most of us, given us more changes and turbulence along the way than many of us ever expected, we now finally have Pluto in it’s last degrees of Capricorn. Along with Mercury Retrograde for good measure!
Mercury went retrograde on Wednesday 13th December, just two weeks before Christmas. Mercury then went direct in the sign of Sagittarius on Monday 1st January, but the post shadow phase does not end until 20th January.
It sure feels like this has been a longer retrograde phase than usual.
We currently have Venus, Ceres and Mercury all in Sagittarius with Venus and Ceres being conjunct, giving fiery intuition into what we value. The Moon in Capricorn and Mercury in Sagittarius are both conjunct Mars in Capricorn which is trining Jupiter, which is now direct. So there may be some explosion of either action or communication. Mars in Capricorn is slow and steady so there will be some restraint around how action is taken.
Saturn in Pisces has all been about putting more intuitive soul led boundaries around your life and others who you let into your life. The last degrees of Pluto in Capricorn have been deeply felt worldwide with more and more stories of deception and abuse of power coming to the fore in recent weeks.
As I have written and spoken about several times these last few months, 2024 is when we enter a whole new world and new way of being. These final few weeks are the time to clear the remaining rubble from your front door, which is subconsciously stopping you from embracing your whole new life with vigour, compassion and strength. Clear the decks of those old emails, outdated files you have not looked at in years, old courses you signed up to but never completed. Clear your wardrobe, clear your house, your attic, your garage, your bookcase.
Just friggin’ clear it all!
If you have young children and teenagers, help them clear their rooms too. By leading by example, by encouraging them. Not by doing it for them.
Set new boundaries with your nearest and dearest if you have to. Gently but firmly. Can your new boundaries include having more time for yourself for your creativity ? Can your new boundary be – actually I need a housekeeper, and a cook and a cleaner. Even hiring one of these three can be life changing.
You can do the same. Hiring someone often costs far less than you expect. They are there to focus on doing what you procrastinate over, so they get it done in no time! The rewards are immediate and start with having a calmer clearer mind, and give you more focus on what you do want to bring into your life.
Like finally publishing that book.
Or organising that painting exhibition.
Clear it all, all of the practical stuff. All of it. Like never before. Then look at the circle of those closest to you. Is there anyone toxic in your life, whose drama you no longer want to be involved in? Then step away lightly, but step away. And no you don’t have to explain anything or give any reasons why. If your circle of friends is now smaller than last year after the festive season, if these new people are more your tribe and more wholeheartedly support you, then all the better.

In the meantime, keep clearing the decks! If you don’t, then Pluto will do it for you!
