Ruth was my beloved daughter who crossed the Veil on 6th September 2021, aged 29. 

Ruth was a highly gifted writer and an emerging poet at the time of her death.

In Ruth’s memory, I have created the Ruth Seavers Literary Bursary, which is administered by the Ty Newydd, Welsh National Writers Centre, North Wales.

In 2026 there will be two additional bursaries awarded, which cover 50% of the cost of one of the week long writing retreats, plus £100 towards travel costs.

2026 applications will be open shortly, and applications must be submitted directly to Ty Newydd before 28th February 2026.

This is a worldwide bursary, with age limit of 16 to 30.
