What is a relocated Solar Return Chart?

A relocated Solar Return chart is fascinating to generate. A natal Solar Return chart is when the Sun reverts to its natal exact degree of the moment you were born. But as the four other social planets move faster – Moon, Mercury Venus and Mars, they are frequently in a different sign than that of your natal chart. They will also usually be in a different house.

A Solar Return chart is a beautiful addition to a current transit chart – as the current transiting planets will move through your houses during the upcoming year. But the solar return planets will stay in the same place for the year, hence giving you a year long additional highly spiritual theme to work with.

It is my personal viewpoint that a relocated Solar Return chart is only best done if the client has already lived in the new location for some time. Or if they intend to stay in either the current or proposed new location for several months at least. I have had both natal and relocated Solar Return charts done in recent years. Both fit.

In the same way that astrologers differ fiercely regarding house systems, the same rings true for natal versus relocated Solar Return charts. Both natal and relocated themes can and usually do play out simultaneously. In 2021 in my Solar Return chart only one planet changed house – Jupiter was in my first house in my natal chart – did I expand my sense of self through my business? Yes! But did I also put on weight? Yes! But in Kenmare, where I was living, Jupiter was in my second house in my relocated Solar Return. So did I also become financially abundant? Yes – that too! So both themes played out. I was Capricorn Rising in both charts for the year and yes it was indeed a year of dealing with endless authority figures – the HSE (Irish national health board) in relation to my late daughter, several solicitors (attorneys) on an ongoing basis in relation to my late mother and subsequently my late daughters affairs, doctors, Covid restrictions, and all the plethora of never ending legalese which was involved in buying my home here. I’m glad not to be Capricorn Rising in a Solar Return chart again any time soon!

Your natal Solar Return Ascendant will give you the theme for how you are going to approach the year ahead – in other words your overall temperament, attitude and approach to life in the year ahead.

With your relocated Solar Return chart, you simply add the additional relocated chart theme to your natal chart theme. The same with the Solar Return Midheaven, Descendant, and IC (Latin for home and roots) As I have frequently written, the two crucial angles of the Descendant and IC are frequently overlooked in astrology.

For those of you who are considering relocating during your forthcoming Solar Return year, these angles play an important role in helping you see what additional spiritual themes are playing out for you. As your soul ascends to a new level of healing and compassion, you will find yourself well able to handle the concept of working with several different charts in the months ahead.

Creative Relocation Package

Which is precisely why I have included a Solar Return chart reading as part of my forthcoming new creative relocation package which are being launched on 21st November. I will be introducing free calls a few weeks before hand to allow you to hop on a call with me to see if this package is a good fit for you.

Solar Return charts, whether natal or relocated ones, give you an extra level of spiritual knowledge for the year ahead to help your soul ascend to new levels and to help you lead a more fulfilling and authentic life.
