Your Neptune line in astrocartography is important because it’s where the energy of that particular planet plays out most powerfully for you.
Neptune in your chart is your higher self, your highest bliss. Its energy can be hard to grasp, particularly when you are going through Neptune transits. But, if you are a creative person and feeling stuck in your creativity, moving to a Neptune line can really get things flowing again.
As I’ve discussed in previous blog posts, it makes huge sense to take into account our planetary lines in our personal development and in our choices about where we spend time on our life’s journey. And astrocartography – an aspect of astrology I’m passionate about – helps us understand those lines, as it powerfully links astrological knowledge with place.
My own natal Neptune is in my sixth house, which means that my work surroundings have to be beautiful. It is crucially important for me. It also means I take a highly Neptunian approach to work – I know that if I take time for myself to write and dream in the morning, then the afternoon’s work will flow. In Ireland, I have Neptune squaring with my Midheaven and IC (home and roots) off the West Coast of Ireland. No wonder that is where I took up sailing!
And here, on the Isle of Wight, I have Neptune bi- noviling my IC – symbolising initiation – so no wonder that this is where I effortlessly signed up for a four-month professional Yacht Master Course! The theory element of the course was extremely challenging, I found, particularly when I was returning to a formal type of study I hadn’t tried for a while. But because the course is so closely in line with my dream and vision – Neptune – I passed. I did much better than expected, in fact!
The influence of a strong Neptune line
Relocating while going through a Neptune transit can be effortless and dreamy, as my move to Italy was some years ago. Under a strong Neptune line, it is certainly the case that you will feel more divinely inspired. Though sometimes you can feel a bit too dreamy, so there may be a need to ground yourself to balance that out or manage it effectively.
Often, we think we are relocating for one reason – such as our career, for example – but our transits will show a different story. We may in fact be moving because we crave a more visionary creative life.
It is so important to go with that feeling and honour it. A strong Neptune line can, of course, be perfect for those who crave a sailor’s life and wish to live on a boat! As so many people are in fact now doing. With the internet, we can work anywhere. So why not?
If we move to a new location where Neptune is strongly aspecting our Midheaven, then our new vocation may involve acting or filmmaking – both such Neptunian activities. Or if we move to where Neptune is activating our Descendant, we may bring inspirational people into our lives. These relationships may not last. But, perhaps, they are not meant to. Maybe, they are simply meant to inspire you and serve you on your way to fulfilling your own higher purpose in the places that best support you.
